At the full time whistle, White initially shook hands with Rodri and Julian Alvarez, with Foden walking away from the group towards Leandro Trossard. However, before he could get there, White appeared to grab Foden by the back of the shirt.
The two then exchanged words before White grabbed Foden by the shirt at the shoulder level as the 22-year-old attempted to push the Arsenal star away. Stewards also attempted to separate the two teams but Kyle Walker then clashed with White. Eventually Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, who had been subbed off, guided his team-mate away from the volatile situation as tempers flared.
