Former England international forward Courtney Lawes is attracting interest from French clubs as his contract with Northampton Saints nears its end. Reports from France have linked him to a move to Provence, a PRO D2 team, and Brive, another Pro D2 club.
Both clubs are looking to strengthen their squads, with Lawes being a top target. Despite interest from second division clubs, several Top 14 clubs are also keen on Lawes. English billionaire Ian Osborne, the majority stakeholder at Brive, has been investing to help the club regain their place in France's top-flight, despite their relegation. Additionally, there have been reports of Racing 92's interest in reuniting with Lawes in Paris, as he previously worked with their boss, Stuart Lancaster, in the England set-up.
Lawes retired from international rugby after the Rugby World Cup last year and has been performing well at the club level, earning the title of Premiership Rugby Player of the Month for December.
