Warrior, the hit martial arts drama series, is set to premiere its third season on Max in June 2023. The show, based on the writings of Bruce Lee, shines a light on the struggles the iconic actor faced within the industry. Lee once pitched an ambitious idea for an action-packed series that would have made him the first Asian leading man on American television. However, ABC decided to create the successful series Kung Fu instead, which shared similarities to Lee's pitch. Warrior has now brought Lee's original story to television, adding to his legacy. Lee's rejected pitch for "The Warrior" was centered around a martial artist named Ah Saham in the Old American West, but it was ultimately turned down.

Kung Fu, on the other hand, enjoyed massive success over three seasons and has had a lasting legacy. Although Lee missed out on creative involvement, his daughter Shannon Lee serves as an Executive Producer for Warrior. The show reflects a modernized version of Lee's vision, set in San Francisco's Chinatown during the Tong Wars and with a focus on Asian American culture. Warrior expands Bruce Lee's legacy by bringing his original vision to life with compelling storytelling and top-notch fight scenes. The third season of Warrior will premiere on Max on June 29, 2023.
