A Storm Like No Other

The storm that hit Rivertown was nothing short of catastrophic. Rain poured down endlessly, as if the sky itself had opened up in sorrow. People scrambled for safety, moving their valuables to higher ground. But in the chaos, a small, drenched figure clung to a piece of floating debris—a kitten, barely old enough to walk, soaked and trembling.

The little creature’s eyes darted around, searching for safety, her faint meows swallowed by the roaring waters. Abandoned by circumstance, she was quickly running out of time.

An Unexpected Meeting in the Storm

As fate would have it, a local man, Edward Grayson, was out on his rescue boat that day. A retired firefighter with a heart as vast as the floodwaters, Edward had volunteered to help his neighbors evacuate. Just as he was about to steer toward the town’s main square, a barely audible sound caught his attention.
