Miami Heat executive Pat Riley believes that Larry Bird is the better choice to take a shot to save his life, even though Michael Jordan is widely regarded as the best clutch-time performer. While statistics only date back to Jordan's final two seasons with the Bulls and show him as the most efficient postseason crunch-time performer, Bird's impact in crunch time cannot be measured through numbers. He has an impressive NBA Finals resume and a record of coming out on top in Game 7 situations. The competition for the NBA's ultimate closer remains between Bird and Jordan until more stats are available.
