Hasbro is selling its eOne television and movie business to Lionsgate for around $500 million. The deal includes $375 million in cash and the assumption of production financing loans. Lionsgate will gain access to eOne's library of 6,500 titles and film development rights to Hasbro's Monopoly. The agreement allows Lionsgate to expand its operations in the UK and Canada, where it has launched production partnerships. Hasbro acquired Entertainment One in 2019 for $4 billion, primarily for its pre-school brands. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year.
