Season 3 of Bridgerton is finally here, and fans are buzzing about Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton's long-awaited romance. But beyond the swoon-worthy moments and lavish costumes lies a story of trust, vulnerability, and the power of on-set camaraderie.
In an exclusive interview, Nicola Coughlan (Penelope) and Luke Newton (Colin) opened up about filming that intimate scene and the unique bond they've forged along the way.
"We're both really happy with it," Luke shared, his cheeks tinged with a hint of blush as he discussed the scene.
Nicola, equally proud of their work, emphasized the importance of feeling safe and supported on set, especially during such vulnerable moments. "It's closed sets, so there's not loads of crew there," she explained, "but there is a crowd of people around us while we're going to expose ourselves.
Luke, recalling the filming process, praised Nicola's strength and professionalism. "So I remember my focus was supporting Nic and making sure that she felt comfortable on set and in that environment," he revealed. "I just wanted her to feel supported and safe."
The following day, the roles were reversed, with Luke baring his soul (and a bit more) for the camera. "We swapped the next day, and then it was my turn, and I completely got that from her," he shared, acknowledging the trust and mutual respect that underpinned their performance.
