Ventimiglia previously appeared in a single episode of the fourth season, playing a short-lived romantic interest for Midge Maisel, portrayed by Rachel Brosnahan.

In The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Ventimiglia's character meets Midge during a chance encounter in Central Park, sparking a flirtatious connection between the two.
