Supermodel Kate Moss revealed her reasons for testifying in the ongoing legal battle between Hollywood actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The estranged couple is currently engaged in a high-profile trial at London's High Court, with Depp suing The Sun newspaper for its 2018 article that labeled him a "wife-beater." The article accused Depp of physically assaulting Heard during their tumultuous relationship.
In a statement released through SAINSBURY's magazine, Moss clarified that her testimony was solely to provide information regarding a statement made about her in court without her knowledge or consent.
Moss explained, "I was asked to speak up about something that happened many years ago. I have known Johnny for over 25 years and have never experienced any of the behavior that Amber has accused him of."
Moss further affirmed her support for Depp, stating, "I do not condone domestic violence and stand by all the women who have suffered abuse." She emphasized the importance of taking such allegations seriously and the need to encourage victims to come forward.
"However," Moss added, "the testimony given to me obviously did not match with the person I have known for a long time."
The episode in question allegedly occurred during Depp and Heard's relationship in the early 1990s, although further details have not been revealed. Moss's testimony followed that of several other high-profile individuals, including Depp's ex-partners Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder, who both defended his character and denied any violent behavior.
