On an otherwise typical Saturday, Julian Marcos and his brother Roberto, two seasoned fishermen from Maryland, were about to encounter something so surreal it would haunt their memories forever. Known for their adept fishing skills, the brothers were well-versed in the nuances of the sea, but nothing could prepare them for what they were about to discover.

The day started promisingly.

Both Julian and Roberto were catching a good haul of the region's familiar fish. However, a strange feeling lingered in the air—an ominous premonition that something wasn't quite right. Their seasoned instincts told them to be cautious. After a productive morning, they decided to cut their day short due to a storm brewing on the horizon. As they headed back to shore, the weather grew increasingly unpredictable.

Suddenly, just as they were nearing the safety of the shore, Julian spotted something alarming in the water.

Out in the distance, approximately 200 feet from where they were, a figure appeared to be struggling. Without hesitation, Julian directed Roberto to prepare the life ring. The brothers were determined to save what they assumed was a person in distress.
